After Sergio Ramos’ controversial handball against Eibar, Ronald Koeman wanted to give his two cents during today’s press conference.

Sergio Ramos was involved in a controversial call last Sunday when Real Madrid faced Eibar after committing an alleged handball. In the end, the referee didn’t believe it was but the replay says the exact opposite. In hindsight, Sergio Ramos does extend his elbow to touch the ball but nothing was called. This is yet another instance in which Real Madrid comes out on the better end of a bad referee call.

There have been several opinions on the incident but we still hadn’t heard about Ronald Koeman himself. FC Barcelona’s manager is about to play Real Valladolid in the Spanish La Liga during a midweek fixture. Naturally, journalists who attended the conference wanted to ask him about Ramos’ incident.

Ronald Koeman’s opinion on Sergio’s handball.

We didn’t expect Ronald Koeman to be so vocal with a play that didn’t’ happen in one of his matches. However, Sergio Ramos’ handball was too blatant to ignore by anybody. During today’s press conference, the Dutch manager wanted to be clear about what he saw in Eibar.

This is what Koeman said via Sport: “It’s a play I don’t fully understand. As I said before about Real Madrid, I don’t want to repeat myself. Nine out of ten people would’ve called a penalty. We already knows this. I can give my opinion like anybody else and I believe it’s a penalty. The referee and his VAR team decided the opposite. I have to respect him because making those calls is not easy. But if you ask me, I believe it’s a penalty.”
