In what would be welcome news for Barcelona fans, Ronald Koeman has confirmed that Ousmane Dembele is back in full training.

Ousmane Dembele is back in training with Barcelona although he is not ready for match selection yet, says Koeman.

The Frenchman has struggled with recurring injury problems and the most recent was another hamstring issue that has kept him out of action since the 5th of December.

Dembele was apparently back in training on Sunday but will still be unavailable for selection when Barcelona take on Eibar on Tuesday.

“He did part of the training session with the reserves yesterday, which is normal the day after the game” Koeman said at a press conference on Monday.

“He needs more training sessions to be able to go on the squad list.”

“He could make the squad for Eibar at the end of December.”

After a somewhat inconsistent season so far, Koeman says he is focused on positive results on the pitch and refused to give anything away on the club’s plans for the January window.

“I’m talking to Ramon Planes about sport-related issues, not with anyone else,” Koeman added.

“I don’t really want to because I think we have to wait for a new president.”

“Right now I have to manage the team, prepare for our matches, there are lots of games. There isn’t even much time to talk about other things. We’ll see what happens in January.”
