The Catalan giants have suffered another setback ahead of their Champions League showdown with Juventus.

Barcelona confirmed Ousmane Dembele has suffered a hamstring injury and will await further updates before determining his availability for Tuesday.

The French forward came on as a substitute during the second half of Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Cadiz and helped Barcelona push for an equalizer, leading to Pedro Alcala’s own goal.

Dembele’s impact, however, came to nothing as Alvaro Negredo grabbed a memorable winner for Cadiz.

But now Barcelona have announced that the 23-year-old picked up a knock at the Ramon de Carranza Stadium, which makes him a doubt for the last Champions League group stage match against Juventus.

“Tests on Sunday morning, December 6, have shown that first-team player Ousmane Dembele has a hamstring elongation,” read a statement on the club’s website.

“He will therefore not be considered for selection and the evolution of the injury will determine his availability.

“Against Cadiz, the French winger, coming off the bench, participated in his 12th game of the year and had, to that point, scored four goals.”

Dembele has already suffered 10 serious injuries since his €130m transfer from Borussia Dortmund in 2017. They’ve mostly involved his hamstring and have kept him sidelined for long periods.
