Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman named the one thing he was worried about after Barcelona fell to a disappointing loss at the hands of Juventus.
Ronald Koeman could only watch on in dismay as his Barcelona side got dismantled by Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus at Camp Nou.
Juventus won 3-0 courtesy of a brace from Cristiano Ronaldo and a goal from Winston McKennie. The Italians had to better Barcelona’s 2-0 victory over them in Turin in October to steal top spot, and they did.
Much was made of the fact that it could be one of the final duels that we’ll see between Ronaldo and his great rival, Lionel Messi. The Barca man arguably contributed more in general play it was the former who was clinical when the opportunities arose.
After the game, Koeman admitted he was worried to see his side lack confidence and aggression on the evening.
“Of course, I am worried” he said to Sky Sports.
“I saw a team lacking confidence. Lacking aggressiveness. And that could be an issue because of fear of our current situation. That’s strange. Because we’ve had good performances in the Champions League.”
With the result, Koeman saw himself set an unwanted feat as Barcelona boss.
A second place finish for the Catalan giants now means they face the prospect of facing clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, among others.
