Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp could reportedly consider swooping for the out-of-favor West Ham United winger Felipe Anderson.

Anderson is available for a loan move this summer after falling down the pecking order at West Ham under the new boss David Moyes.

Having underperformed in the 2019/20 season, the 27-year-old Brazilian is no longer part of the Hammers’ plans for the future, hence a £5million loan fee.

Arsenal have already expressed transfer interest in the former Lazio star. Mikel Arteta looks to add another attacker after securing Willian’s signature.

The Brazilian arrived for free after running down a contract at Chelsea, signing a three-year deal.

Now, he could welcome his compatriot Anderson, who is likely to leave the London Stadium by the end of the transfer window.

But, according to the Express Sport, the Gunners could face stiff competition from Liverpool, who are in the market for a new forward.

Jurgen Klopp had big plans for the summer transfer window before the coronavirus crisis crippled the club’s budget.

Timo Werner, now at Chelsea, had been the Reds’ prime objective for the summer. However, newly-crowned Premier League champions pulled out of the race due to a lack of funds.

Klopp can still bring in a new frontman to provide an extra layer of depth to his attacking line.

Felipe Anderson could become a real target for Liverpool, given he’s available for cheap.

The ex-Santos man might offer the Anfield outfit the identical set of skills they were trying to acquire in the form of Nabil Fekir.

Fekir nearly joined the Merseyside giants in June 2018 before the deal fell flat due to the Frenchman’s alleged knee problems.

But, despite a low transfer fee, Anderson would command hefty wages, as he currently earns £140,000 per week at West Ham.

A substantial salary the Hammers would be willing to cover partially just to get rid of their fringe forward.
