Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has reportedly placed West Ham United’s outcast Felipe Anderson at the top of his recruitment list.

Having joined West Ham for the initial £36million plus add-ons in summer 2018, Felipe Anderson had got off to a flying start to his Premier League career.

But, the Brazilian’s indispensable first-team status in London has faded since David Moyes replaced Manuel Pellegrini at the helm.

A nasty back injury that coincided with a lack of form and the resurgence of several West Ham attackers saw the 27-year-old forward finish the last season with just one Premier League goal to his name.

Additionally, Anderson has found his first-team opportunities at a premium following Jarrod Bowen’s arrival from Hull City.

As a consequence, Moyes has deemed the former Lazio star surplus to requirements and is willing to listen to offers before the transfer deadline passes.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is now eager to swoop in and take Anderson across the English capital, report Football Insider.

The Spaniard is looking to strengthen his squad to bolster the Gunners’ chances in next season’s top-four race.

Anderson’s name is said to be featuring his list of targets close to the top despite Willian’s recent arrival from Chelsea.

The experienced Brazilian winger penned a three-year contract at the Emirates earlier in the summer after running down his contract at Stamford Bridge.

But, with West Ham ready to cash in on their misfit, Arteta sees a window of opportunity to be seized.
