After his forgettable performance last week, Alisson had a talk with Jurgen Klopp that the German manager revealed earlier today.

Even the best goalkeepers like Alisson Becker can make mistakes and Jurgen Klopp knows this perfectly. The life of a goalie is perhaps amongst the most difficult to lead in the world of football due to these moments. They can often make mistakes that can become difficult to overcome and take them down a negative spiral out of control. Just ask the previous goalie whose place was taken by the Brazilian star.

Loris Karius was not a bad player before the 2018 Champions League final but that night marked his career forever. Klopp’s intention is to fill Alisson with confidence so he doesn’t fall in the same position. Liverpool simply can’t afford to have one of their most important players on a negative dynamic at this stage of the season. As such, Jurgen revealed the content of their conversation and how he is managing this difficult moment. Klopp keeps proving his leadership by supporting his players in moment like this.

What did Klopp tell Alisson?

“Oh we had, of course, a little talk,” Klopp said via The Mirror. “If it’s then about encouragement or whatever, I don’t know. It’s just a little talk and he was not happy that it happened, of course. But it’s very important to realise in a moment like this, goalkeepers in a long career, they make mistakes. For a goalkeeper of the quality of Alisson Becker, it’s pretty rare that he makes this kind of mistake and that he makes two of them in one game, that’s clear as well. But on top of that, goalkeepers are used to making mistakes.

“It means they have to stay in the game, they concede a goal and they know maybe earlier than all the rest of the world, ‘I should have saved it!’ They have to deal with that always and he has just a few days in between the City game and this game. There was absolutely no real criticism from our side, from the boys, from the players around him because everybody knows how good he is. He’s a very calm person, and now the next game is coming up and that’s good so he can play his normal level again and then everything will be fine.”
