Jurgen Klopp has landed in hot water after Liverpool were ‘absolutely spanked’ by Aston Villa in the Premier League.
Liverpool fans were left in disbelief as Aston Villa handed the reigning Premier League champions their biggest defeat since 1963, leaving them out for cold at Villa Park with a 7-2 scoreline.
Dean Smith’s side were already 4-1 up by the break following Ollie Watkins’ treble and a goal from John McGinn. Jack Grealish, who made three assists, got on the scoreboard himself in the second half with a brace. Ross Barkley was also on target.
The result was another twist of shocks that has befallen European football of late as clubs like Manchester City and Bayern Munich have suffered heavy domestic defeats.
But Liverpool, who have boasted the Premier League’s best defensive record for the last two seasons, have already conceded 11 goals in their opening four games of the 2020/21 campaign.
Now a Reds fans, called Aaron, has told former Tottenham and England striker Darren Bent that it’s time for the club to bid farewell to their manager.

“Klopp has got to go, he’s got to go,” Aaron told Bent on talkSPORT. “I’m sorry, but he’s got to go.
“Listen, I know I’m not from up north, I know I’m not a Scouser, but how many times have we got to address these defensive issues? He has to go!
“We’re conceding SEVEN to Villa, but it should have been nine or ten!”
To be fair, Aaron has a point as it could’ve been so much worse for Liverpool on Sunday. Even Watkins was kicking himself about it after admitting he could’ve scored a few more goals at the end of the game.
But have things gotten so bad that Liverpool must now hand their coach an ultimatum?
“OK, it was a bad game,” added Aaron.
“But Klopp said last week that we take risks by playing a high line, and we’ve been showed up by Villa. They have absolutely spanked us.
“Klopp has got to address this problem, or he’s got to go!”
A bold claim indeed! Although Klopp was quick to point out it wasn’t all bad news at Villa either.
