The midfielder has featured sparingly this season and has only started getting consistent minutes in recent weeks under the new manager.
N’Golo Kante reveals he was a subject of transfer interest for Thomas Tuchel when he was still in charge of Paris Saint-Germain.
Kante joined Chelsea five years ago, after inspiring Leicester City to an against-the-odds Premier League title triumph in 2016-17.
He quickly became a mainstay in the middle of the park for the Blues and earned a second Premier League winners’ medal in his debut season at the club.
Individual accolades followed in bulk for the 29-year-old, as did FA Cup and Europa League triumph.
Perhaps the biggest achievement for the France international so far is guiding his national side to World Cup glory in 2018.
Considering his highly-decorated CV, it is understandable that Kante is frequently linked with top clubs around Europe – but he seems to be thoroughly committed to Chelsea.
“I knew in the past there was some contact with Paris Saint-Germain when he [Tuchel] was the manager, but it was not something I wanted,” he told the club website.
“It did not happen because I was happy at Chelsea and I stayed here. I haven’t spoken to the manager about it!”
