In a recent interview, N’Golo Kante said he is ‘pleased’ with the role he has taken under the management of Thomas Tuchel.

N’Golo Kante believes the role Thomas Tuchel has him playing is the “best way” for him and for Chelsea.

Due to fitness struggles, the Frenchman has only featured sparingly under the new Chelsea boss.

However, Kante has started three of Chelsea’s last five games, thriving in the ‘double six’ role alongside Jorginho or Mateo Kovacic.

The 29-year-old saw his stock rise while playing as a sole defensive midfielder.

Speaking on his recent role change, Kante says the change in tactics is the best for the team.

“It’s a position I have played many times, here, at Leicester and in the national team,” Kante said to the Chelsea official website.

“It’s not only the best way for me to play but for the team. It is good for me to play with someone who stays when I go forward, or I stay when he goes forward.”

In the same interview, Kante also spoke on his best moments in a Chelsea jersey.

“There have been many important moments for me. My first game at Stamford Bridge with a blue shirt, my first goal, winning the title in the Premier League,” he added.

“If I had to choose one, I would say the day in West Bromwich when we won the title. Even if this game I was on the bench, that moment when Michy scored…!”

“It was a very good achievement that season with a lot of effort and good and bad moments. It was one of my favourite memories in my Chelsea career.”

Since Kante joined Chelsea in 2016, he has been an integral part of their squad and recently hit 200 appearances for the Blues.
