Ace Football previews the Champions League match between Juventus and Dynamo Kyiv, and offers betting tips, odds, line-ups, and team news.

Stephanie Frappart will become the first-ever female official to referee a men’s Champions League match as Juventus and Dynamo Kyiv lock horns at the Allianz Stadium on Wednesday night.

Qualification into the knockout stages from Group G is already decided, with Juventus securing the second and final spot last week. Now it’s about closing down that three-point gap to group leaders Barcelona for next week’s Camp Nou showdown.

The Bianconeri will be confident of taking home the spoils of victory, especially as they defeated Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 back in October. But, amid struggles for consistency and the possibility of rotations, it could be a close call in Turin.

Juventus Form & Stats

Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata’s goals nailed Juventus a 2-1 win over Ferencvaros and passage into the Champions League knockout stages for the seventh campaign in a row last time out.

But the Italian champions seemed off the pace in Turin and followed it up with a disappointing 1-1 draw at Benevento over the weekend. It’s left Andrea Pirlo under pressure, with the head coach in need of a strong result.

Pirlo could recall Ronaldo after resting him for the club’s trip to Benevento. He confirmed in his pre-match conference that Morata ‘will probably play’, but poured cold water on the idea of starting the Spaniard alongside Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala. The latter of the trio may be rested for the Turin derby coming up on Saturday.

Giorgio Chiellini and Merih Demiral, meanwhile, returned to training on Monday. It’s unclear if they’ll play on Wednesday, but the defensive duo’s returns are a welcome boost. Especially as Juve have conceded in seven of their last eight games.

Key Team Stats
  • Won four of their last five games against Dynamo Kyiv in all competitions (D1).
  • Lost just two of their last 26 home Champions League games (W16 D8).
  • BTTS in three of their last four home games in all competitions.
  • Alvaro Morata has scored five goals in his last four Champions League games.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo has scored three goals in two Champions League games against Dynamo Kyiv.

Dynamo Kyiv Form & Stats

The Ukrainian giants ended a three-season absence from the Champions League group stages this term, but their return has been a forgettable one. They’ve collected just a point from four games so far. It’s left them tied in third-place with Ferencvaros in the Group G table.

But while hopes of reaching the knockout stages for the first time since 1998/99 are over, Dynamo Kyiv can still compete in the Europa League by nailing that all-important third-spot.

Although Mircea Lucescu’s side had a disappointing 4-0 home defeat to Barcelona last week. The Catalan giants fielded an under-strength side, with stars like Lionel Messi and Gerard Pique absent, yet still comfortably won. They also recently blew a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Ferencvaros.

It’s worth noting, though, Dynamo Kyiv perform strongly on the road. They’ve won eight of their last 10 away games across all competitions (D1 L1) and scored in all of them.

Key Team Stats
  • Lost three of their four Champions League games this season (D1).
  • Over 2.5 goals in five of their last six Champions League games.
  • Conceded at least two goals in their last four Champions League games.
  • Won eight of their last 10 away games across all competitions (D1 L1).

Team News

Juventus: Giorgio Chiellini & Merih Demiral (doubts).

Dynamo Kyiv: Oleksandr Tymchyk, Mykyta Burda, Volodymyr Kostevych, & Nazariy Rusyn (out).
