The latest UEFA club rankings for the 2020/21 campaign have been released, with Juventus overtaking Real Madrid to enter the top-three.
Real Madrid have fallen from second-place down to fourth in the latest UEFA’s club coefficients rankings, which were updated last week.
Despite similar struggles last season, including a Champions League last-16 exit to Lyon, Juventus have overtaken Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid to move two places up in the rankings to third behind Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
The Serie A champions have 111,000 coefficient points compared to Real Madrid’s 110,000.
The other notable change in the top 10 list of UEFA’s coefficient list below is Manchester United overtaking Sevilla to eighth-place.
The Red Devils lost to Sevilla in the Europa League semi-finals in August. Julen Lopetegui’s side later won the competition for a record sixth time but, like United, have had a mixed start to the new campaign.
UEFA base the club coefficient rankings on the results of each club from the last five seasons in the Champions League and Europa League. It helps determine a team’s seeding in a draw for any UEFA competition.
Despite Real Madrid winning the Champions League three times in the last five years, however, two last-16 exits to Ajax and Manchester City have knocked them down the order.
