Juventus joined the race for acquiring Palmeiras young sensation alongside top clubs such as Atletico Madrid and Chelsea.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Juventus has jumped into the race to bag Palmeiras showstopper Gabriel Menino alongside Atletico Madrid and Chelsea. The youngster has been on the radar for Los Colchoneros after Lucas Torreira’s departure to Arsenal on loan.

Menino is a versatile midfielder who can play in several different positions including a defensive right-back. Moreover, Geoffrey Kondogbia has failed to display his standards during his first season at Wanda Metropolitano.

And in addition to that, Hector Herrera is yet to receive a spot in the starting XI and Saul has declined in terms of performance. All these reasons address that Diego Simeone’s side is in need of a strong centre-man.

Because of the 20-year-old’s ability to play box-to-box gameplay along with a defensive mindset, Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel might want to add him to the squad list. In the meantime, Juventus are showing interest in Menino after a painful exit from the Champions League Round of 16.

With Cristiano Ronaldo’s uncertain future, Juve can bag a young Gabriel to start rebuilding their squad. As per Mundo Deportivo, Palmeiras have noted a €60 million release clause for the midfielder. However, they are willing to agree on an asking price of €20 million.
