Let us dive into the player ratings of the Juventus vs FC Barcelona UEFA Champions League match played at Allianz Stadium in Turin.

Without Cristiano Ronaldo on the pitch, Juventus got visited by FC Barcelona at Allianz Stadium. This Catalan club is a much different squad than the one from last weekend’s El Clasico as they dominated the Italian giants. Not having Cristiano was a real problem for the Bianconeri as they truly suffered against a determined Leo Messi.

During the first half, the Argentine made a brilliant long pass to Ousmane Dembele from one side of the pitch to the other. The French forward created himself enough space to take his shot from outside of the box with one of his classic dribbles.

An attempt that was deviated by Leonardo Bonucci and surprised Szczęsny. However, the 1-0 result at half-time was a faithful representation of the match we all witnessed. This Barcelona side was ready to keep creating chances in the second half through Messi and the rest of the squad.

Griezmann still misses but he improved.

The second half was more inclined in Barcelona’s favor. Juventus only had Alvaro Morata as the striker and the Spaniard got three goals disallowed for multiple offsides. Messi kept leading this fresh Barcelona side that is slowly going back to their old ways of spectacular football. Even if Cristiano Ronaldo played today, it’s possible he would’ve made a difference but only individually.

The only poor rating for Barcelona was their lack of aim in front of the Juventus goalkeeper, all the strikers missed clear chances. Ansu Fati got on the pitch to elevate his side’s chances to win. He got to provoke a penalty that Messi scored from the spot. Barcelona keeps cruising through the Champions League after this key victory.
