In one of the latest videos from the FC Barcelona communications team, we can already see happy players after Bartomeu’s resignation.
Josep Maria Bartomeu’s resignation was widely expected by all FC Barcelona players for a long time, they didn’t seem happy in recent weeks. Lionel Messi was the only one who made his feelings public as he had a very public falling out with the former president. But pretty much all the players were unhappy with the way Bartomeu was making decisions at the club.
Leo previously stated that he didn’t feel there was a clear project and the board was just improvising as they went along. This was a general feeling amongst the rest of the squad, which is why we can understand today’s video. As the team is already in Turin, they are fully prepared to play against Juventus at Allianz Stadium.
The club’s communication team tends to release training session videos ahead of the game on their rival’s grounds. This week’s video showed a very different group of players compared to previous sessions. It doesn’t really seem like Barcelona just lost El Clasico last weekend.
Messi is happier than anybody.
Even though all the Barcelona players appear happier than usual despite going through a rough weekend, Leo Messi is leading the pack. The Argentine player’s smile is too wide for his own good, it’s evident he feels better without Bartomeu as the club’s president.
It is even possible we get to see a very different Leo Messi playing against Juventus in a few moments but there’s more to come. We need to understand that all Barcelona supporters alongside the players were eager to see a new president sitting at the club. Now that their wishes came true, we also need to know how the whole election process will take place.
But for now, all we can hope is for a more involved group of players at FC Barcelona. Not having the president who was conspiring to leave them in ruins can certainly become a major source of motivation. The video speaks for itself.
