Despite having new transfer coming like Gareth Bale for Tottenham Hotspur, Jose Mourinho confirmed he hopes to sign new players.

Jose Mourinho is trying to sign at least one more player for Tottenham Hotspur before the transfer window closes. The Portuguese manager already got his wish of getting Gareth Bale on one of his squads but he knows that the Spurs need more reinforcements. The Welshman came to the club injured and will be out for at least one month.

This means that Mourinho obviously wants to sign one more player who can guarantee him a fighting chance vs the Premier League opposition. But the problem remains the same as always for any Spurs’ manager. Daniel Levy is a major obstacle when it comes to spending money on new transfers and Jose Mourinho is aware of the situation.

The next week will be crucial for Tottenham’s future in every competition and Mourinho is adamant on them trying to sign a new player for the squad. During this Saturday’s press conference, the gaffer spoke about the importance of buying new players.

What position does Mourinho want?

The plan Mourinho has seems pretty straight forward. His idea is to get a new striker for the squad that can accompany Kane and Son while Bale recovers from his injury. However, the coach doesn’t want just any player. The names Milik and Skriniar are the ones being mentioned as Mourinho’s top targets right now.

But the real struggle starts right now for the manager, the enemy is his own chairman. As a way to send him a message, Jose decided to respond to questions about the open market and his plans to tackle it before it ends on October the 5th.

“The market is open, we have a good squad,” said Mourinho on the Spurs’ website. “Can we have a better squad than we have now? Yes we can. Is the club trying to build that balanced squad that we all want, yes we are trying. Let’s see if that’s possible.”
