As part of an interview with L’Equipe, Joan Laporta decided to double down on his attacks against PSG for trying to sign Leo Messi.

As part of his declared war against PSG, Joan Laporta just spoke to L’Equipe about the French club’s public attempts to sign Messi again. Recently, he already spoke about the lack of class he thinks PSG has by doing this. In his view, a plot to destabilize FC Barcelona is well underway ahead of their upcoming Champions League knock-out stage.

As a way to respond to these attempts, Laporta is even making the rounds in the French press to directly attack Paris Saint-Germain. In the past, he used to have a good relationship with this club when he signed Ronaldinho in 2003. However, things have drastically changed with the new owners. Laporta is not amused by the giant club’s tactics.

Laporta’s new attack against PSG.

In an interview with L’Equipe, Joan Laporta said: “I think they lack education, it’s utterly disrespectful. PSG’s behavior is not welcome in any capacity. In my eyes, they disrespected Barcelona as a club. This club has become prominent in recent years but this really disappointed me. I can perfectly understand Neymar saying he wants to play with Leo Messi again. Playing with Leo is something even I would love. But this same statement coming from one of the club’s directors is completely out of place. It shows a lack of experience at this level.

“They still have a lot to learn in the football world. From what I know, PSG had huge losses last season. I would love to know if they will ignore the Financial Fair Play rules if they sign Messi. If this happens, I hope UEFA and FIFA react accordingly. I also expect the Arbitration Sports Tribunal doesn’t hesitate when they rule their verdict. We have to make every effort in order to convince Messi to remain in Barcelona. A financial proposal that suits the club’s possibilities, but we also need to be convincing with the project we present to him.”
