In a recent interview, Joan Laporta wasn’t happy with PSG for trying to lure Leo Messi to the club during the next summer transfer window.

Joan Laporta isn’t happy with PSG’s way to lure Leo Messi to their club, he came out to speak against their actions in a recent interview. To those who don’t remember, Leonardo publicly said that Paris Saint-Germain is going to wait for Leo Messi next summer. For Laporta, this was a way to destabilize the club and he is having none of it.

If he becomes president, this statement clearly leaves the French giants in a delicate position. For many years, perhaps both clubs didn’t have the best of relationships but they at least negotiated for players. All that might change with Laporta, who isn’t very fond of their tactics. In fact, he flat out insulted Nasser Al-Khelaifi after saying they don’t behave like a big club. This message will reach them loud and clear. In retrospect, Joan Laporta might’ve declared war on Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Joan Laporta basically insulted PSG.

In an interview for Sport, this is what Joan Laporta said: “The club has to be capable to give Messi a good proposal in order to accept it. He needs to know this proposal, it requires urgency. Each time, making a convincing proposal becomes more and more complicated. Others are negotiating already and Barça is still without a president.

“It is a disrespect to the club that clubs such as PSG say they want to sign Leo Messi publicly. We can’t allow state clubs to destabilize other clubs. This comes from a football club that should follow the rules instead of jumping over them. We will have to push in order to prevent these situations and not get sanctioned in a weak manner.”

It’s still unclear where Messi will play next season, his future is completely in the air right now but Laporta is one of the few people who can convince him to star in Barcelona. PSG is the strongest option for him if he decides to leave, along with Manchester City.
