Jamie Vardy has signed a new contract that will keep him at Leicester City until 2023 beyond his 36th birthday.
While Vardy still had another two years left on his original contract, Leicester saw fit to award him a bumper deal following an outstanding campaign at the King Power Stadium.
The 33-year-old won his first Premier League Golden Boot award ahead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Danny Ings on 23 goals, securing Leicester a fifth-place finish and Europa League football.
He also became only the 29th player in history to score 1000 Premier League goals back in June.
This brilliant form has led the Foxes to award Vardy a one-year extension, meaning he’ll have spent 11 years at the club by time his contract expires.
“The journey that I’ve been on with this football club is hard to describe, and although we’ve accomplished so much together already, I know that I’ve got so much more to achieve with this team,” Vardy told the club’s website.
“So it’s a special feeling to be able to commit my future to Leicester City once again.

“I love playing my football in front of our fans at King Power Stadium and I’m delighted to continue this journey at such an exciting time for the Club.
“We’ve a fantastic team that I believe is capable of getting even better and I can’t wait to see what we can achieve together in the next few years.”
The former Fleetwood striker has managed 130 goals and 52 assists in 310 outings since joining Leicester in 2012 for just €1.24m.
Vardy, who played an integral role in the club’s 2015/16 Premier League triumph, will hope to continue his fine form in the upcoming season opener away to West Brom on September 12.
