New Everton signing James Rodriguez says he remains ambitious as ever and wants to help the Toffees win trophies.

James Rodriguez completed a move to Everton from Real Madrid earlier this week.

The Colombian international cost the Toffees around €22m and joins the Merseyside club on a two-year deal.

A key ingredient to the move happening was James’ relationship with Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti. The pair have worked together at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. This will make it their third time doing so.

Despite something of a decline in the past two seasons, the ex-Real Madrid man arrives in England with a big reputation on his shoulders.

Everton have been pretty active in the transfer window and have also signed Allan from Napoli and Doucoure from Watford.

James remains confident in his qualities and says he;s ready to give his best in the club’s quest for silverware.

“I am the sort of person who always wants to achieve more and more in my career and life,” he said to the club’s website.

“Every day I have always wanted to achieve more.

“It is a new league I am coming to and a big league on a worldwide scale.

“I learn things every day.

“I am a curious guy and fascinated by things that are new.

“I can continue to learn and improve as a player.

“I know the manager really well and I worked with some of the backroom team in the past.

“Everton is a club with a lot of history… years and years of excellent history.”

“I have come here to this top club to achieve big things.”

Carlo Ancelotti also expects James Rodriguez to regain his best form at Everton.
