James Rodriguez joined the Toffees from Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti cannot stop waxing lyrically over the Colombia international.

Zinedine Zidane does not give a lot of chances to players he does not seem fit for his plans. Both Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez will attest to this fact.

While Bale continues to languish on the fringes at the Santiago Bernabeu, Rodgriguez has found a way out. The Colombian has linked up with former manager Carlo Ancelotti at Everton in a 25 million Euros move.

This is the third club Ancelotti and Rodriguez have been paired up together. They were together at Real Madrid and Bayern Munich before.

Ancelotti is in awe of the South American and believes he will add quality at Goodison Park.

“James, as everyone knows, is a fantastic player with a lot of quality and a lot of ability to make assists for the strikers,” Marca quoted Ancelotti.

“He’s really excited about the project of the club and the fact we want to improve. He was really excited to sign and I didn’t spend time to convince him – he was already convinced.

“Players like James and Allan can help us to be better and we can help them to be better. This kind of connection can be helpful to improve the results, the team and results of this Club.”

Everton finished 12th in the Premier League lasy season but will hope to improve in the 2020/21 campaign. They start the new season on the road against Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur.
