After a very busy Thursday for both sides, Jack Grealish just took another massive step towards his transfer to Man City this week.

Jack Grealish just took one of the most significant steps towards his possible transfer to Man City. In fact, we can already confirm his announcement will happen within the next 24 hours after what he just did. The scheduled medical exam went perfectly for the England international and then he finally decided to sign his new contract. Journalist Fabrizio Romano offered more details into what the player did over the last few hours.

It has been reported that Grealish passed that medical, signed his contract, and he even spoke to Pep Guardiola about the role he will play in the new team. The new Citizen will play at the club until the summer of 2026 and will earn around €300k on a weekly basis. Manchester City paid an incredible €118 million, which was unheard of from Guardiola since he arrived at the club. However, reaching the UEFA Champions League final last season gave the entire club a sense of responsibility to do it again this year. Signing Jack Grealish is a very important step towards reaching that goal one more time.

Which number will Jack Grealish select after signing?

According to various sources, Jack Grealish won’t pick the club’s number ‘10’ jersey because the club will save that for Harry Kane if he comes. However, he will use it if the Tottenham Hotspur striker doesn’t sign for Man City. In a more realistic scenario, the numbers available for Jack to take are 4, 15, 18, 19, 24, 28, 29, and 30. Grealish perhaps would’ve liked to wear the number 23 as well but the club retired it in Marc-Vivien Foe’s honor.

Also, we remember Jack wearing the number 40 jersey during his first two seasons at Villa but it’s unlikely he will choose this number again. If he was to pick the number 4 jersey, he could easily start his career pleasing Guardiola. Keep in mind that the Catalan manager wore this number for the majority of his professional career as a player. Also, we recall Cesc Fabregas wearing that number whilst playing a position that is very similar to Jack’s. How excited should we get over Jack Grealish and his imminent arrival to Man City?
