The chairman of the German and European champions have lavished praise on the Egyptian icon, casting fresh doubts on his Anfield future.

Mohamed Salah is comparable to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of his accomplishments for Liverpool, in the view of Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Salah reached new heights in terms of abilities on the pitch following his move from Roma to Liverpool in 2017.

Winning the UEFA Champions League Forward of the Season, UEFA Men’s Player of the Year Award, Premier League Player of the Year, FWA Footballer of the Year, Premier League Golden Boot twice, among other accolades, the Egyptian established himself as one of the best players on the planet.

He also quickly became a superstar in his native Egypt, netting 43 in 68 games on the international stage and winning the African Player of the Year award in 2017 and 2018.

“In my opinion, Salah is the Messi of Africa and of course he has the skills to play for the best teams in the world,” the Bayern legend and CEO told Egyptian media, as per Kingfut.

“What he has achieved can be compared to what Messi and Ronaldo did with Barcelona and Real Madrid.”

“At the moment we don’t plan on signing Salah, but certainly it would be an honor to have him.”
