A certain Chilean forward picked up a knock while on international duty that may force him to miss Inter Milan’s next couple of games.

Alexis Sanchez was in fine form while representing his national team, finding the net in Chile’s both World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Colombia.

The Colombia match, along with pleasure, however, also brought distress to the 31-year old as he suffered a muscular problem on Wednesday.

Chilean news outlet ADN Deportes claims that the forward’s injury would see him remain on the sidelines for a while, leaving him unavailable for Inter’s next two games.

If there’s any truth to the report, he will miss the Derby della Madonnina against AC Milan on Saturday.

Should Sanchez remain unfit for the clash against Milan, it will come as a huge disappointment for Antonio Conte as he has established himself into one of Nerazzurri’s key players.

The former Manchester United man scored three goals and created seven more in just eight starts post-lockdown last season. He has continued his fine form this season, being elemental in his side’s 4-3 win over Fiorentina and 5-2 dismantling of Benevento in Serie A.

ADN Deportes’ report further goes on to state that Sanchez could also miss the Champions League group stage opener against Borussia Monchengladbach on Wednesday.
