The Serie A leaders have released a promising update on injured midfielder Vidal ahead of a decisive run of fixtures.
Inter Milan midfielder Arturo Vidal has undergone successful knee surgery and will leave the hospital on Friday afternoon.
The 33-year-old Chilean sustained a problem in his left knee during Monday night’s 1-0 win over Atalanta. Christian Eriksen replaced him before the hour-mark as a precaution in the match. Inter later confirmed the injury.
The Nerazzurri have now released a positive update on Vidal after his arthroscopy surgery, but issued no potential return date for the player.
“This morning, Arturo Vidal underwent arthroscopy surgery on his left knee at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano,” read a club statement.
“The surgery was perfectly successful. The player will be dismissed from the hospital in the early afternoon and will begin the rehabilitation phase in the next few days.”
According to reports in the Italian press, Vidal could be unavailable for around three to four weeks.
This might rule him out of a key run of matches against Torino, Sassuolo, Bologna, and perhaps Cagliari as Inter continue their pursuit of a first league title since 2010.
