Ciro Immobile believes Lazio are in safe hands, insisting Claudio Lotito and Igli Tare are working on reinforcing the squad for the next season.

Immobile had one hell of a domestic season, finishing the 2019/20 Serie A campaign as the competition’s top scorer. The 30-year-old frontman gave an immense contribution to his team’s top-four finish.

His tally of 36 league goals scored tied Gonzalo Higuain’s record for the most goals scored in a single season.

Lazio are about to grace a prominent Champions League stage after producing an outstanding 2019/20 Serie A season.

For the large portion of the previous campaign, they seemed to be the only side able to overthrow Juventus.

Unfortunately, Lazio tumbled down the blocks since the resumption of football, which resulted in a fourth-place finish.

Leading figures at the Stadio Olimpico are now working around the clock to improve Simone Inzaghi’s options for the next season.

Lazio will face a battle on multiple fronts, which requires the club to expand the roster this summer.

Immobile reckons the Biancocelesti recruitment team is on the lookout for the fresh faces.

“We all know it well, the President [Claudio] Lotito and director [Igli] Tare are the leaders,” he said, as transmitted by Football Italia. “They are working for this.

“In the next three months, until Christmas, in practice, between the League, the national team, and the Champions League, we play every three days.

“We need to bring in important players, able to give quality and recover energy to the group. I repeat, Lotito and Tare know the situation very well.”

Immobile has also emerged as a possible transfer target for Barcelona.

The Catalans are ready to give up Luis Suarez and are said to have taken the Italian goal-machine into consideration.
