Ciro Immobile believes Lazio will have a tough task on their hands as they compete in three competitions in the upcoming 2020/21 campaign.

Inter Milan surprised everyone with their Serie A title. While the Europa League beaten finalists were heralded, Lazio continue to get ignored.

For only the second time in a decade, the Romans qualified for the Champions League. Couple that with their Serie A and Coppa Italia responsibilities, and they have a lot to contend with.

Lazio have managed to keep their core group of players. However, Simone Inzaghi would want to add to his ranks. Ciro Immobile is on the same wavelength as his manager.

Immobile shared that playing in the Champions League can get daunting but the team will have to become resilient. He wants them to prove themselves against the best and have fun in the process.

“Now we’ve got the Champions League and I know how tense one can get in the build-up to those big games,” Football Italia quoted Immobile.

“It’s going to be tough to handle three tournaments, but we are enthusiastic and don’t want to just be making a cameo in the Champions League. We’re there to have fun.”

Immobile was the highest European league goalscorer and even left Robert Lewandowski in his trail.

“It was exciting to leapfrog Lewandowski in the standings when I scored against Brescia, but so did my 100th goal for Lazio against Milan,” the Italian forward added.

“It wasn’t easy to win the Golden Boot, especially after a long lockdown, but I tried to recharge my batteries by spending time with the family.”

Lazio have added Pepe Reina to their ranks. The experienced Spanish goalkeeper arrived on a free transfer from AC Milan.
