Despite a trouble-filled past few weeks, Arthur Melo has bid Barcelona fans goodbye with an emotional farewell video.

Arthur has said his final goodbye to Barcelona and their fans as he officially joins Juventus.

The 24-year-old was already confirmed by the Serie A champions since July but decided to remain at Barcelona until the end of the campaign.

Arthur promised to give his ‘best’ until the very end for Barcelona. However, things went south along the line.

The Brazilian midfielder was reportedly not pleased with the way he was treated since his transfer was complete. He was overlooked for selection and in retaliation decided not to play for Barca anymore.

Club president Josep Bartomeu even branded that act from the player ‘unacceptable’.

Despite all of that, Arthur showed he still has a soft spot for Barcelona in his farewell video. The 24-year-old will leave for Turin this week but described Nou Camp as his ‘home’.

“Saying goodbye is difficult, but even more so when it means leaving behind a place that has become my home,” Arthur said in a post on Twitter.

“This is an incredible city and it will always be in my heart.

“It’s a city where everyone welcomed me in like another Catalan.

“I was shown a new culture and people helped me grow as a player and, above all, as a person.

“I am saying goodbye to a group of impressive footballers and I feel fortunate to have played by their side.

“I’m especially thankful for their support as friends.”

Arthur also said his goodbye to the fans.

“The fans made me proud to be a cule and to defend one of the most important club badges in the world,” he continued.

“They showed me affection and a level of respect that I’ll never forget.”
