Juventus reportedly want new signing Arthur Melo to join them earlier than agreed following the midfielder’s conflict with his current side FC Barcelona.

Juventus and Barcelona agreed on a shock swap deal in June that will see Arthur head to Turin in September for around €82m. Miralem Pjanic, on the other hand, will head the opposite direction for €65m. The agreement left fans flabbergasted, but little did they know was that the drama had only just begun.

Arthur went AWOL shortly afterward, despite initially vowing to continue in giving his all for Barcelona. He refused to return from his native Brazil, vowing to never represent the Blaugrana again.

But the 24-year-old recently returned amid an internal investigation. He’s been kept apart from the squad ever since, with rumors claiming he wasn’t allowed to even attend the recent Champions League match against Napoli.

Now Brazilian outlet UOL claims Juventus have entered the fray. The Italian giants allegedly want Arthur to join them for pre-season on August 24 rather than in September, as previously agreed.

Arthur and his representatives are on board with this idea and are attempting to persuade Barcelona into allowing it. His recent actions, however, haven’t won him any favors. Thus, it’s possible the club may refuse this request until their investigation ends.
