The Welsh winger’s agent discusses his client’s future as he approaches the end of his loan tenure at Spurs.

Gareth Bale will be more than happy to sit on the bench upon his return to Real Madrid, says Jonathan Barnett alluding to the player’s lofty wages.

Bale, who was deprived of consistent playing time at Real Madrid last season, joined Tottenham on a season-long loan deal at the start of 2020/21.

While unable to get back to his absolute best, the 31-year-old has promising signs of resurgence. He has scored four goals in his last three games in the Premier League, with three of his goals coming in the 4-0 win over Sheffield United.

There are talks Tottenham are considering signing the Wales international on a permanent transfer while rumors also suggest Real Madrid, who are in dire need of firepower, are keen to have him back.

“He’s still one of the best players in the world, but he’s only got four games left so we will have to see,” Bale’s agent told SNTV.

“It’s a three-party discussion; it’s us, Real Madrid and Tottenham. We have our views and we will let them know at the right time.”

“I very much doubt that [Bale has a future at Real Madrid], but if they want to put him on the bench then that’s fine.

“They want to put me on the bench with that salary? That’s fine for me as well.”
