The Magpies boss has made a confession over the future of Callum Wilson amid rumored interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United.

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe might not be able to prevent Callum Wilson from departing the club.

According to the Evening Standard, Wilson can be purchased for £18 million. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United are aware of the striker’s availability. The three clubs are searching for a proven goal-scoring talent in the Premier League.

Newcastle need to raise money to meet the financial rules of the Premier League. The Magpies have spent around £400 million on signings since being bought by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund in 2021.

“[Wilson] is 100 per cent committed to Newcastle,” Howe said at a press conference ahead of Saturday’s fourth-round FA Cup game against Fulham.

“We want two fit strikers and want to keep him, but obviously, some things are out of my control.”

Howe added: “We want to keep our squad intact and keep our best players, but I’m also aware of the club side and FFP is affecting all clubs. We’re no different to any other club.”

Wilson, who is under contract at St. James’ Park until June 2025, has scored seven goals in 14 Premier League games this season.

The 31-year-old joined Newcastle in September 2020 in a £20 million deal from Bournemouth.
