Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg took time to praise the in-form duo of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min ahead of Spurs’ clash with Liverpool on Wednesday.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has hailed the world-class partnership of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min with both players pretty much in sync this season.
The duo have combined for goals 13 times already this season and the latest came when Son set up Kane to give Spurs the lead against Crystal Palace.
However, a late goal meant Spurs were undone and had to share the spoils in that match-up.
With a table-deciding clash against Liverpool on Wednesday, much of Spurs’ chances for victory will lie on Kane and Son once again and Hojbjerg took tome to praise his teammates ahead of that crunch clash.
“I think if you see all the great teams that have done something big, in this country, in European competitions, they have always had players who have stood out,” the Danish international said to the club’s website.
but what for me is remarkable is that two world-class players like they (Kane and Son) are, two of the best players on the planet, they are working so hard for the team, they are so committed to the group, they are doing everything to put their ego aside.
“We players are loving playing with them, we need to put them in good situations and they need to execute. They are two of the best players on the planet.”
Hojbjerg also claimed the draw to Crystal Palace puts them in a ‘better’ state to face Liverpool in midweek.
“1-0 is always a good result if it stays like that, we could have controlled the game better, but we didn’t,” he added.
“In a way it is good we have a game on Wednesday because it makes us ready for the next opportunity and challenge.
