Lucien Favre wants Jadon Sancho to keep his head down and continue his development process in order to reach his full potential.

20-year old Jadon Sancho was one of the standout performers not only for Borussia Dortmund but in all of Bundesliga in 2019/20.

Sancho immensely contributed to his team in attaining a second-place finish, scoring 17 league goals and setting up another 16.

The England international’s career has been on an upwards trajectory ever since he left for Germany back in 2017, and he has been heavily linked with a return to his homeland.

Manchester United are understood to be desperate to sign him and have made him their No.1 transfer target for this summer.

However, his capture by Man United seems unlikely now. Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke earlier asserted the club do not intend to let go of their prized asset.

Manager Lucien Favre is glad that Sancho is staying at the Signal Iduna Park as he points out the areas the youngster needs to work on.

“It is important that he stays with us. That is, of course, also important for the team,” Favre told Der Westen.

“Sancho is, of course, a very good player but he must also have in mind that he still has a lot to learn.

“He needs to have better control of the ball, to do more headed flick-ons, and to improve his defending. He can’t just stop running and stand still for 10 minutes and then suddenly do something for the next 10 minutes.”
