Jose Mourinho is hoping that the club can soon reach an agreement over an extension with one of his most vital players, Son Heung-min.

Tottenham have made a promising start in Jose Mourinho’s first full season in charge, and a good part of their fine fortune can be attributed to Son Heung-min.

The South Korean’s proficiency in front of goal was on full display during the Premier League matchday 2 as he found the back of the net four times to sink Southampton.

In just eight games so far this season, he has already scored nine goals while also claiming four assists.

It has been reported that Spurs are preparing to reward the 28-year old forward with a new contract that would get him a huge pay rise on his current £150,000-a-week wages.

“Everybody in the club is totally in love with this player and trying to make him feel part of the furniture,” Mourinho told of his prized asset, as Sky Sports reports.

“Of course it is normal that the club tries to go from three to four or five or six, I don’t know.  But it is normal, it is a very calm situation because he has three more years of contract.

“But I wish, he deserves [a new contract] and the club knows that and I believe sooner or later that they will, without any pressure, arrive to a decision.”
