One of England’s biggest legends is absolutely convinced that Harry Kane will regret not leaving Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
Even though he is still scoring incredible goals for both England and Tottenham, there are people who think Harry Kane made a terrible mistake. At 27 years of age, this was the exact moment for him to leave the Spurs in order to seek titles. But Daniel Levy prevented him from leaving the club as Manchester City made a juicy offer for him. Tottenham’s chairman has always been one of the toughest negotiators in European football. He made Real Madrid go through hell before agreeing to sell them Luka Modric and Gareth Bale.
But selling to a direct Premier League contender is a very different ball game. Levy simply does not negotiate with other English clubs and Harry Kane’s dream was crushed in a matter of days. After this massive attempt from City, the England captain decided to stay at Spurs. But only time will tell if this was the right decision for him as he keeps a clean trophy cabinet. He hasn’t even managed to win anything important with England despite his many attempts.
Ian Wright is convinced Harry Kane will regret this.
As one of Arsenal’s biggest legends from North London, Ian Wright knows how clubs from that area in the country work. He is aware of Daniel Levy’s toughness but he is convinced JHarry Kane should’ve put his foot down this summer. The Daily Mail picked up the following statement from Wright during his ITV work as a pundit: “What’s going to happen with Kane, he’s decided to stay at Spurs.
“There’s no question, he’s a world-class player and at some stage he will be thinking he wants to win things, otherwise he wouldn’t have wanted to go to Man City. Maybe he doesn’t feel like it can happen at Tottenham but at City he felt like that was going to give him that last realization. I believe he is a world-class striker but people will question that he hasn’t won enough. He’s probably going to break the England scoring record. That’ll be the one thing he will regret, if he doesn’t win anything, that’s what will drive him.”
