Born and bred in the Spanish capital, the talented defender decided to leave Santiago Bernabeu back in 2018 in search of regular game time.

Achraf Hakimi is still hopeful of returning to Real Madrid at some point in his career, reveals the player’s agent.

Hakimi only recently made the move to Paris Saint-Germain on a €60 million transfer after spending just one season at Inter Milan.

The Morocco international had signed a five-year contract at Inter after making a name for himself as one of the best full-backs in the world during a two-year loan spell at Borussia Dortmund and had built on his reputation in Italy. However, the Serie A champions had to cash in on him due to their financial complications.

A product of Los Blancos’ famed academy La Fabrica, the 22-year-old made his senior debut under Zinedine Zidane, and he is keen on retracing his steps back to his boyhood club.

“Real Madrid had the right of first refusal until PSG and Inter said that the deal was going to take place,” Hakimi’s agent Alejandro Camano told El Transistor.

“We keep the hope and the dream that Achraf returns to Real Madrid because he was born in Madrid, grew up in Madrid and as a final aim, one day, he would like to play for Real Madrid.”
