Former Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte is expecting Achraf Hakimi to get back to Real Madrid in the future.
Achraf Hakimi dreams to play for Real Madrid again in the future according to Antonio Conte. Both worked together at Inter Milan before the right-winger joined Paris Saint-Germain.
Originally, Hakimi left Santiago Bernabeu on a loan deal to Borussia Dortmund. However, he was later transferred to the Serie A champions on a permanent agreement.
As a matter of fact, the Morocco international only made 17 competitive appearances for Los Blancos during his time there. But his explosive qualities attracted many clubs in Europe.
And Conte believes that Hakimi will return to Madrid one day or another in the future. The ex-Inter coach told Sky Sport Italia of Hakimi saying: “His dream is to play for Real Madrid again as a key player.”
The Madrid native right-back impressed those at Inter during his two-year loan at Dortmund. Thus, the Serie A club signed him, but Hakimi’s stint in Italy was not an easy one according to Conte.
“Psychologically, Hakimi suffered a little bit from last year’s games,” Conte added. “I remember those two games very well. From that point on, he worked a lot and I saw a young player who wanted to learn how to [improve].”
“He understood that what he was doing attacking-wise was not enough; now he is among the best in the world. If he keeps working on his final ball, he can be world-class.”
