The Golden Boy winner is one of the most in-demand young players in Europe with several top clubs prepared to spend big.
Erling Haaland’s father, Alf-Hinge, refused to rule out his son leaving Borussia Dortmund at some point in his career, but insists the young striker is ‘very happy’ in Germany.
The 20-year-old emerged as one of the most exciting young talents in European football following an outstanding campaign in 2019/20 with RB Salzburg and Dortmund.
The latter fended off competition from the likes of Manchester United and Juventus to sign him on a €20m deal last January and quickly got their money’s worth.
Haaland has since become an indispensable part of Lucien Favre’s attack, with 33 goals in just 32 games across all competitions.
“Now he is very happy [at Dortmund], but Erling loves challenges and in football you never know what the future holds. We’ll see,” Alf-Inge told Tuttosport.
The Italian outlet awarded Haaland the prestigious Golden Boy award at the end of November for his breakthrough campaign.
Alf-Inge added: “My son is the first Norwegian and first Scandinavian to win it. We are all very proud of him.”
Haaland is currently recovering from injury in Qatar and won’t be available for Dortmund again until the new year.
