According to a German media outlet, Erling Haaland might not be able to play for Borussia Dortmund for the rest of 2021.

Erling Haaland might not be able to provide his goalscoring talent to Borussia Dortmund for the rest of 2021, according to a report from Bild.

Earlier this month, the Norwegian striker sustained a hip flexor injury and has been out in the medical room since. Haaland is currently trailing Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski in the top-scorers list in Bundesliga.

As a consequence of his setback, the 21-year-old was ruled out of the league clash with Arminia Bielefeld last weekend.

Dortmund boss Marco Rose revealed previously: “Erling will be out, we’ll be without him for a couple of weeks even. He has a hip flexor injury which simply doesn’t make it possible for him to play. It’s the same thigh, but another location.”

Be that as it may, German media outlet Bild has now reported that Haaland has “torn a bunch of muscles in the hip flexor”. Meaning, the prolific striker might have to be sidelined away from full training for at least six weeks.

Undoubtedly, this will make a colossal impact on BVB’s lineup without their top attacker. The major issue that the club will face is that there is no alternative for Haaland in that position.
