The German midfielder has been in outstanding form lately and is enjoying his most productive season in a Sky Blues shirt.

Ilkay Gundogan says he could see out the remaining years of his playing career at Manchester City.

Gundogan is enjoying a quite productive 2020-21, scoring 13 goals and registering three assists across 25 games in all competitions.

A couple of those goals came in the 3-0 win over Tottenham, with the midfielder scoring a brace to guide his side to their 15th consecutive win in all competitions.

The Germany international has been an integral part of Pep Guardiola’s setup ever since he became the Spanish manager’s first signing for Man City back in 2016.

Two years still remain on the former Borussia Dortmund man’s contract with the Sky Blues, but it appears he has a future well beyond 2023 at the club.

“I must honestly say that I can imagine that happening,” Gundogan told Sky Sports in response to whether he is open to spending the rest of his career at Man City.

“The way they work here, not only athletically but also in all areas around it, is something I have never seen before in my career.

“I feel like the club is more than just the football itself and it’s just a nice feeling to be a part of this family.”
