Pep Guardiola has heaped praise on his Manchester City players after a record-breaking win against Swansea in the FA Cup.

Pep Guardiola praised his record-breaking Manchester City players as ‘amazing and special.’

The Citizens proved too much for the Swans as they raced to a 3-1 victory over the Championship side on Wednesday night.

City made it 15 wins in a row in all competitions which broke the record they shared with Preston (1891-92) and Arsenal (1987) for consecutive victories by a top-flight side.

It was also Guardiola’s 200th victory as City boss as the Premier League leaders stormed into the FA Cup quarter-finals with another impressive victory.

City boss Guardiola said as per BBC: “It’s amazing for ourselves. We came here to win the game and that is the most important thing.

“It means and shows how special these players are. I know we have broken an all-time record, beating Preston and Arsenal, so now it belongs to us.

“This record will be broken for sure because sport is like this.”

“It is a lot and in this toughest period, in the Christmas and winter time, to do what we have done so far is quite remarkable.

“But the important thing is the way we are still playing and our consistency. We are just thinking of the next one and we have an incredibly tough week ahead of us and we are going to approach it game by game.”

Speaking on his 200th win as City boss, Guardiola added: “It’s good. It’s a lot of games and a lot of victories. Hopefully, it’s the beginning of more to come.”
