These days, giant clubs can drop points against a “modest” club in the relegation area.
Even though Manchester City is currently on an 11-match streak, Guardiola needs to find ways to keep his players motivated. They simply can’t relax against the competition and he knows it. In a recent interview, he outlined the huge task at hand that his team needs to complete. Manchester City seems like the rival to beat in English football today, but that can change in a matter of days.

Contrary to last season, Pep Guardiola knows he hit the jackpot again for Manchester City. In fact, the squad’s defensive solidity is starting to become even better than other successful seasons at the club. In a recent interview he granted to the club’s website, this is what Guardiola had to say: “We have the feeling we are getting better. We are more comfortable; we control more aspects than in some games earlier in the season, when players weren’t fit or had Covid.
“But we are back and getting better – but football is always changing so you cannot think it is done. Football is little details that can be destroyed. Don’t be disappointed when results are not going well because the situation is weird. And when it is going well, be calm and think about the next game.”
