After playing one of his best games as a Barcelona player, Antoine Griezmann gave his verdict on the goal drought he had last year.

It appears 2020 was simply an overall unlucky year for Antoine Griezmann at FC Barcelona, things are already looking up for him. After coming to the club in a controversial transfer televised by him. Griezmann had a difficult time adapting to the club. With Luis Suarez as Leo Messi’s henchman, the French forward was lost inside the squad’s lineup.

But things slowly started to change as soon as Ronald Koeman arrived. That and Griezmann’s realization that he is no longer the star is what helped him grow as a player. Today, he performed what can arguably be considered his best match as a Barcelona player. With two goals and one assist, we finally saw a glimpse of the player we all fell in love with at Atletico Madrid.

Griezmann feels relieved things are changing.

After the match, you could see a happy Antoine speaking to the press: “The first one wasn’t offside and that’s why I went for it,” Griezmann explained afterward via Marca. “When Ousmane [Dembele] gives me the ball, I try to shoot, and luckily it went in. They weren’t going in before but now it seems things are going well.”

“We needed the three points, to win and keep up this run,” Griezmann added. “I’m very happy for the work of the team. We have to keep getting all three points. Everybody knows [Granada] is a tough place to come and a difficult team [to face]. The team started very well. We have to keep going like this. The squad has to pick up three points in every match, then we’ll see what happens. We have to keep up the good impression [we made] against Athletic.”
