FC Barcelona traveled to Los Carmenes to face Granada on Saturday as one of the few La Liga matches that weren’t in danger. As we previously told you. Spain is suffering from one of the most incredible snowfall events in the country’s history. But Barcelona wasn’t in danger of getting their game canceled because that area of the country isn’t as affected as the Madrid community.
Ronald Koeman’s squad was coming from a good week in regards to results and with a Lionel Messi back to his old self. Today was no different, but we also got some pleasant surprises from players like Antoine Griezmann and Samuel Umtiti. Both French players performed an outstanding match to give Barcelona another important victory. The forward started off the party with an opening goal that VAR had to review but it was allowed after a possible offside from him.

But the man of the match is Lionel Messi, who played an outstanding first half for the Blaugrana with a brace. The first goal was a combination with Griezmann he finished with a potent strike to the top corner. Soon after that, Pedri got knocked down near the box. Messi transformed the set-piece into a beautiful low free-kick goal. That was 0-3 at half time for FC Barcelona.
Despite not playing the usual tiki-taka football, we are looking at a more direct offensive squad with Griezmann and Messi at their best. After the break, the French forward rounded his performance with a brace after an assist from Dembele. This win solidifies Barcelona’s third position with 34 points and both teams from Madrid still left to play.
