The home crowd was unforgiving of the Frenchman, who was at fault a couple of times for losing possession in Sunday’s match at Camp Nou.

Ronald Koeman has objected to Barcelona’s fans action of whistling at Antoine Griezmann during the match against Getafe.

Griezmann started against Getafe and played for a good 84 minutes but he hardly had made any contribution in Barcelona’s 2-1 win.

Looking short of confidence, the forward lost the ball twice in the first half which resulted in him getting jeered by the Camp Nou crowd.

The 30-year-old, who is yet to score, assist, or register a shot on target after three matches in 2021-22, was expected to step up in the absence of Lionel Messi but he has been unable to deliver up to the expectations so far.

“As a coach I can’t understand why fans whistle at one of our players,” Koeman told post-match, per Marca. “It’s not good.

“You can shout if he doesn’t have the right attitude or does not work.

“Griezmann had difficulties in the game, he was unlucky, but it was just a game. Like all forwards, he has good days and others which are not [good].

“There are games in which you can’t find space and it also depends on the opponent. We didn’t create chances for him either.”
