The Croatian is unsure whether the Frenchman will wear the famous white shirt but what he is sure about is that he is cut out for it.

Luka Modric has added fuel to Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid transfer talks by insisting “great players are always welcome” at the club.

Mbappe remains heavily linked with a switch to Real Madrid amid uncertainty over his future at Paris Saint-Germain.

It has been reported that the 22-year-old has decided against extending his stay at Parc des Princes in favor of a move to the Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the season.

While PSG obviously want to keep hold of him, they would reportedly be willing to cash in on him in the summer to avoid losing their prized asset for free in 2022.

“You hear a lot of stories about the players who’ll be coming in and who’ll be leaving, but I can’t go into that, said Modric, via Sky Sports.

“Mbappe is a great player and he’s proved that with his national team and PSG. Great players are always welcome at Real Madrid, but it wouldn’t be right of me to speak about players at other clubs, particularly at this stage of the season.

“We’ll have to see what happens next season, but he’s a top player and is amongst the best in the world.”
