For the second time in the space of weeks, reports are once again claiming Paul Onuachu is interested in making a move to Arsenal.

According to reports, Genk striker Paul Onuachu wants to end up at Arsenal.

The 26-year-old has had a stunning season for Genk, scoring 32 goals in all competitions. It is by far the Nigerian’s best goal-scoring campaign in his career. It comes after the forward recently revealed his admiration for the Gunners in an interview.

Arsenal could be in the market for a striker due to doubt over the futures of two of their frontman.

Alexandre Lacazette’s contract at the Emirates expires in the summer of 2022 and it remains to be seen if the Gunners want to offer a new deal to a player who turns 30 this month. Eddie Nketiah’s contract is also up next year and West Ham have been linked with a move for the out-of-favour academy graduate.

Although Folarin Balogun has penned a new deal to end speculation over his future at the club, he might be seen as one for the future instead.

But it remains to be seen how much Mikel Arteta will use the teenager as part of his first-team plans next season.

Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard and Red Bull Salzburg’s Patson Daka have both been linked with moves to Arsenal.

However, Onuachu provides another option for Arteta as he looks to rebuild his struggling squad.

Belgian outlet Voetbal Belgie says the striker wants to join Arsenal, with Genk wanting around £25.9million (€30m) for the 26-year-old’s signature.

Onuachu started his professional career in Denmark with Midtjylland.

He scored 74 goals in 181 appearances for the Danish club before joining Genk in 2019.

Onuachu netted 10 times in his first season in Belgium but has been sensational this term, with 30 of his 32 strikes coming in the Belgian Pro League.

His height and athleticism make him a rather unique option upfront but it remains to be seen if Arteta would entertain the idea of another striker in his ranks.
