Having starred in the Bavarians’ historical European conquest last time out, the German winger now desires more of similar success.

Bayern Munich enjoyed a quite successful 2019-20 as they completed a treble of the Champions League, Bundesliga, and DFB Pokal.

Hansi Flick’s side were utterly dominant in each of those competitions, particularly in the Champions League.

The Bundesliga giants were simply unstoppable on their way to lifting the trophy – thrashing FC Barcelona 8-2 and Chelsea 7-1 – and became the first team in history to win the competition with a 100 percent win record.

They also became the first team in the competition’s history to win 11 games in a row. Scoring an incredible 43 goals in 11 games, they fell just two goals short of matching Barcelona’s tally of 45.

Bayern have looked favorites to successfully defend their European crown in the early stages.

And not only does Serge Gnabry wants the trophy to return to the Allianz Arena this season but in the next one as well as he targets Real Madrid’s spectacular record of winning the Champions League three times in succession.

Gnabry told The Daily Mail: “We have a team at the moment that’s filled with so much talent, so much character, so much drive. Our aim is or will be to win the Champions League as many times as we can, whilst we are at that peak.

“Maybe like Barcelona or Real Madrid, who won it three times in a row. We want to do the same things.

“Hopefully in a couple of years [at the end of your career], to know that you’ve made history is something no one can take from you. And looking back at the trophies and especially the memories that you’ve had lifting the trophy, winning, seeing the team, spending time with your mates, those are things that I want to remember when I finish my career.”
