With two of their experienced defenders’ future up in the air, the European champions are said to be planning on dipping in the market.

Hansi Flick has ruled the possibility of new arrivals at Bayern Munich in January but leaves the door open for “one or two” departures.

David Alaba is out of contract in the summer and seems destined to end his long-term association with Bayern. It has been suggested that the club are willing to sanction his sale in January out of fear of losing him for free next summer.

Jerome Boateng is another player whose future at Allianz Arena is up in the air with his contract due to expire at the end of this season.

It has been reported that Bayern could be tempted into dipping in the January transfer market to bring in replacements for their experienced defenders.

However, the European champions, like all clubs, are having trouble with finances, and Flick does not want to press the club to bring in new faces.

“Let me be very clear about this: the current situation affects all clubs in the world,” the German manager told reporters, as per beIN SPORTS. “It’s not an easy situation with corona.

“I’d like to be clear: I don’t want to demand new players. I know the situation at Bayern Munich; I know it’s very difficult at the moment.

“The squad we have here at our disposal is the squad we’ll have until the end of the season.

“I’m not sure if one or two might still transfer. There are certain things that have been talked about, but currently we have very good quality in our squad and I don’t think our goals are in jeopardy.”
