Dietmar Hamann labeled Serge Gnabry and Robert Lewandowski as ‘two absolute guarantees of victory’ for Sunday’s Champions League final.

Gnabry and Lewandowski have been integral in Bayern’s passage towards the Champions League final, scoring a record 24 goals combined. They’ll hope to add to that tally on Sunday.

The pair will pit their talents against the Paris Saint-Germain in Lisbon. The French giants, who boast Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in their ranks, defeated RB Leipzig 3-0 in the semi-finals and are desperate to win that elusive European title.

But Bayern have enjoyed the stronger run of form to the final after thrashing Chelsea (4-1), Barcelona (8-2), and Lyon (3-0), with Gnabry and Lewandowski playing prominent roles.

The former’s progress, in particular, has impressed Hamann this season, and the German expects his compatriot to be key on Sunday alongside Lewandowski.

“Serge Gnabry, of course, played a big part in the semi-final against Lyon,” Hamann wrote in his Sky column.

“His development at Bayern has been phenomenal and his goal was absolutely world class!

“After dribbling across the penalty area, developing such force and power when shooting is a great art. Like Robert Lewandowski, Gnabry always serves the team.

“The fact that they have set a Champions League goal record together underlines their importance for Bayern’s offensive. They are not only two absolute top players but also two absolute guarantees of victory. Such players often make the difference in the final.”
